We've all done it at least once, in a moment of discouragement, fatigue, or despondency. But there are those who haven't stopped at the thought and have actually put it into practice.

Judging by Abigail's story, it certainly seems so!

Abigail is a woman who turned 45 just a few months ago.

After a life spent in an office from morning to night, chasing deadlines so tight that she never falls behind, she decides to give it all up.

Her dream has always been to open a small business far from the city, in the mountains, surrounded by nature, where the rhythm of life is dictated by the sunrise and where the day ends with sunset.

She then moved from Hamburg to Mittenwald, a small village in the heart of the Karwendel Alps, known as the paradise of the Bavarian Alps and a green temple for trekking and mountain biking enthusiasts.

Her life aspiration is to be able to dedicate herself to nature, to independently producing basic foods and maintaining a small cabin offering locally sourced products.

It wasn't easy; the change was radical, but after much effort to figure out how to bring her new business to life, Abigail managed to realize her dream.

The days are punctuated by chores, not exactly light ones, which must be performed with a certain routine.

At first, she worked alone, but now she relies on the help of two women from the village, allowing her to pursue another passion she discovered after arriving in Mittenwald: wood carving.

This is what she usually devotes her afternoons to.

Near her cabin, there's a carpentry shop that produces handcrafted objects and wooden beams for interiors. Abigail was enthralled by the beauty of the handcrafted objects and immediately asked if it were possible to learn this art.

In her mind, she could already see her cabin decorated in perfect Bavarian style.

It took time to learn, but Abigail discovered a true passion and gave it her all.

Although she isn't completely self-sufficient and wood carving isn't something you learn overnight, with a little help she has managed to decorate her cabin with many of her own hand-carved objects.

Abigail has long days and, even though she performs difficult tasks that require a lot of physical effort, she is very happy to have taken the courage to make this radical change in her life.
