GORE-TEX
GORE-TEX
The innovative Gore-Tex membrane offers excellent comfort in any weather because it is designed to maintain the ideal temperature. The Gore-Tex membrane has micro pores that are 20,000 times smaller that a water drop and 700 times bigger than a molecule of water vapour, thus ensuring long-term impermeability and excellent temperature comfort.
GORE TEX :
Gore has developed special layers for shoes to adapt to and more efficiently tackle all kinds of weather conditions, physical activity and work environments. There are two product classes to ensure the best choice of shoe: Gore-Tex Extended - suitable for dry environments with high temperatures. Featuring long-term impermeability, excellent breathability and no insulation for maximum heat dissipation. Ideal for high temperatures and work both indoors and outdoors. Gore-Tex Performance - suitable for dry environments with moderate temperatures. Featuring long-term impermeability, breathability and moderate insulation to maintain correct temperature regulation. Ideal for variable weather conditions and a wide range of jobs.
Every part of the shoe and not only the membrane , such as the leather, fabric, laces, foam, and stitching =threads, as well as the entire structure should always be optimised = must comply to Gore Standards to obtain the best performance for their intended application. Safety shoes featuring Gore-Tex membrane exceed the requirements of the EN ISO 20345/347 standard in terms of impermeability, breathability and durability. Gore-Tex subjects shoes to 300,000 laps (80 hours) in water up to ankle level - without a single drop entering the shoe. The EN ISO 20344 standard only requires 4,800 flexes (80 minutes) and allows a maximum of 2 cm2 of water inside the footwear. The safety shoes that features Gore-Tex technology are made with materials that are six times more breathable, as required by the 20345/47 standard. Lastly, the materials used for the lining and upper are subjected to four times the usual strength tests required by the current EN ISO standard.
